Looking for a media industry mentor? We're launching a spin-off programme to BACK IN, which will see 50 Midlands-based filmmakers receive mentoring from established media professionals in the UK, over 6 months.
BACK IN Xtra is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the BFI as part of the Future Film Skills programme. Following our hugely successful callout earlier in the year for filmmakers to apply for BACK IN, which saw over 100 applicants vie for one of 6 slots - we recognised the need for more filmmaker-based support in the industry and we are filling that void with BACK IN Xtra. Beginning this Autumn, BACK IN Xtra will see 50 Midlands-based filmmakers receive mentoring from established media-industry professionals in the UK over 6 months, including Daniel Alexander Films.
About BACK IN Xtra
BACK IN began when Punch and Daniel Alexander got together to create the first Midlands-based black filmmaker development programme in 2016, where 6 filmmakers a year receive 9-months of workshops, support, guidance, a commission and a film screening.
Now we're in 2020, we want to open up BACK IN, for more people to benefit from this programme.
We are looking to match 50 filmmakers in the Midlands region with 10 relevant media-industry professionals for 6 months. This is for those that want to get their foot in the creative industries door; and need guidance and advice to get there.
The programme will begin in Autumn 2020 and end in Spring 2021.
Deadline to apply: 28th September
